St. Francis House Port in the Storm
Project Profile
Breaking Ground helped breathe new life into St. Francis House’s Port in the Storm youth center. The renovation project included installing new plumbing, electrical, and HVAC as well as tying new ducting and lighting into existing systems. A number of energy-efficient upgrades such as new gas piping, a tankless water heater, spray foam insulation, low-flow plumbing fixtures, high-efficiency HVAC equipment, and LED lighting were also installed. Safety and accessibility improvements included a new fire alarm and sprinkler system, fire-rated walls, and three ADA-compliant bathrooms with showers. Additionally, no VOC paint was used and the build made use of donated materials.
